Stop press!

Oh dear - we've had to cancel the February tasting due to lack of numbers - we hope not of interest! Making the evenings viable is entirely dependent on there being enough people there, as we run this on a shoestring. Don't think for one minute that Angela and I make our fortune out of this! We do it for the fun of it.... It's a bit of a busman's holiday for me, but then it's a lovely social with friends and neighbours.

And another disappointment - it turms out that Chapel Down are not having vistors till April this year. And on top of that their excellent chef (I can vouch for that) has moved on, so it's all change at the restaurant. May have to be a rethink....

Wine tastings, gourmet dinners, wine tours abroad, magic, music and more...

Chateau 22 is a new, limited membership, local wine club based in East Dulwich, London SE22. There will of course be wine tastings - but not in the traditional, stuffy style. These will be really entertaining monthly occasions with as much fun as information, good food, and an emphasis on enjoyment. Plenty of blind tastings, quizzes, aroma challenges and so on. However, there’ll also be other opportunities to enjoy gourmet dinners with wine to match, wine tours suggested by members and run by the club, wine with a range of combinations (cheese, chocolate, desserts, tapas...), plus diversions from musicians, our in-house magician, cabaret, comedy, recitations - the possibilities are endless. Meet, chat, drink, relax.

The party’s over.... Well Christmas and New Year’s Eve, and all that. And so’s the C22 Christmas Party, which was candlelit, relaxed, and really enjoyable. Great food, lots of lovely wines to challenge taste buds, and featuring the return of The Fleas - the hottest and coolest ukelele band around. Lots of laughter, and prizes to be won. If you missed it you missed a lovely start to the season.

And then we had to cancel the February tasting! See the sidebar. Where is everyone? Hope you’re not fed up with it already......? For now, The Americas postponed till March 14th. Angela will send out reminders, but put it in your diary, and don’t forget to book in advance. Leaving it till 24 hours beforehand just doesn’t work!
